Official says test oil pumping to Komsomolsky refinery fails

MOSCOW, Dec 29 (PRIME) -- An oil quality and quantity test during pumping to a pipeline from the Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean oil pipeline (ESPO) to the Komsomolsky refinery was qualified as unsuccessful, aide to the president of Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft Igor Dyomin told reporters on Saturday.

“A repeated all-encompassing test… was completed yesterday in order to supply oil from a bypass of the ESPO to the Komsomolsky refinery. The all-encompassing test was qualified as unsuccessful by a joint commission chaired by Komsomolsky’s deputy chief engineer,” Dyomin said.

Transneft built the 293-kilometer pipeline from the ESPO to the Komsomolsky refinery of oil producer Rosneft but traffic of oil has not started. Transneft is in preliminary negotiations with Rosneft to cover the loss it incurred from May 2018 till December 6.
